About the Book
What’ll I do if I don’t get my way is written in a rhyming style with creative illustrations that identify feelings that a child might encounter if they do not get everything they want or have everything their way. It encourages positive reactions to negative situations and attempts to help children to understand that they will grow into better adjusted and happier young adults if they learn at an early age to handle life’s inevitable ups and downs and not getting everything they want.
About the Author
Author Mark Shane Williams has worked with children and young people for over 30 years and the last 28 years with young juvenile offenders who have broken the law due to a variety of negative influences or situations in their lives. His desire in writing children’s books is to do more than just entertain, but help parents begin communication with their children about issues that they will face as they grow up and give them tools to aid in dealing with situations that may arise. He firmly believes due to his experience as a father and what he has witnessed in his career, that children who have discussed life situations with their parents are much more prepared for life’s struggles. Parental communication with a child, concerning how to deal with life’s disappointments, empowers the child to handle things that do not go their way in a more productive and positive fashion. It can provide the necessary skills and self confidence they need to deal more effectively with the inherent trials and obstacles of life. Illustrator Lindy Williams Ryan has loved being creative her entire life and finds she is most happy when she is creating! After attending the University of Texas at Austin she moved to Los Angeles, California where she currently resides with her husband Jamie. This is Lindy and her dad’s second collaborative book project together.
