This story is a realistic fictional narrative that explores the life of a boy named Vendel. The events in the book reveal his natural curiosity to explore and gain knowledge, and they describe father-son bonding time. Readers also learn the father’s dream for his son and Vendel’s final career decision.

About the Author

Patricia Maynard is a Professional educator for over twenty five years. She has a passion for teaching and learning. She believes that all children can learn. She was recognized as an outstanding teacher in the St. Thomas/St. John School district. She was honored for her contributions in educating the children of the Virgin Islands. To her credit she has presented at professional Development workshops such as the AFT Mini Quest, at Lockhart Elementary School Professional Day and The Wesley Methodist Church Cotillion. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Master of Arts in School Administration, Curriculum Specialist Degree and a Master of Arts in Public Administration. She is certified as a Highly Qualified Teacher and she also has certification as an Assistant principal. Presently she is an Assistant Principal at the Joseph Gomez Elementary School in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
