Beyond the Hill

It was fine going across that first hill, when we reach our middle years. Then, we find ourselves in the older ones. We keep crossing hills and find beyond them, we loose more loved ones. Our bones begin to stiffen, and our strength begins to fail. But, somewhere a long the way, we begin to notice a change of freedom. We begin more to think about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We begin to stop worrying, so much, about what others think about us. We reach out when there is a need, and move forward with what we have left. Our faith seems to increase. We still have hope, and learn the joy, our Lord placed within, has to dribble out along the way. 1TIMOTHY 6:8, “And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”

About the Book
Come walk with me through the trails of my childhood. Ride to church with me on a brisk, Sunday morning. We’ll head up winding, Big Creek Road, enjoy the flower-strewn meadows and gentle hills, with Stover Mountain standing watch over them.
I’ll ask, “How ya’ll,” and tell you to, “be coming.”
About the Author
Joyce Bennett was born in 1940. She remembers, when she was a little girl, her mother showing her some stamps left over from the Great Depression. She began writing poetry in her teenage years. Joyce found, you do not go beyond the hill, once. You keep on crossing that hill.
