Everybody loves at one time or another. No matter for how long, the heart accepts love and the heart gives love. Love allows us to experience joy and happiness. Love also allows the experience of hurt and pain. Love is taken for granted at times. It can also be cherished too much. Love is passion filled. Love is overwhelming. Love needs to be understood and respected. Love touches the heart and makes it flutter in ways never thought of. Love makes the heart and mind do things our mouths say we’ll never do. It’s funny how love works. But we fall in and out of it every day. Come journey into my world and experience love the way I see it, understand it, feel it, and respect it. I have experienced love on many different levels. It has taught me, disciplined me, and has allowed me to mature into the woman that I am. Now I share it with you.

About the Author
Hailing from the great city of Miami, Florida, Melissa Monék was born on December 04, 1973. The youngest of three children, she learned to find her way in life early. Known to most as the quiet shy kid, Melissa dealt with a lot of adolescent adversities. Growing up in the streets of Liberty City afforded her a lot of painful, unexpected life experiences. At an early age, she began to display her artistic and athletic abilities. One of a kind with a great uniqueness about her, Melissa found herself befriending the likes of those who would eventually take advantage of her, betray her, and kill every dream she ever had. By the age of 15, every dream she ever dreamt became a distant thought. As time went on she adjusted to what she thought would be her life story. In 1991, she graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School at the age of 17. She went on to attend Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama where she majored in Elementary Education. College life proved to be a very different experience for her. She grew and learned a different way of living. With her passion for children, she worked in the Montgomery County Public School System for 6 years. In 2011, she relocated back to Miami, Florida where she currently resides and works for the Miami Dade County Public School System in the Head Start Program. Although artistically inclined, writing is her passion. Melissa writes poetry, short stories, and children’s literature. One of her greatest goals is to become a published author. In the midst of it all, she continues to piece her life together, living out the plan God has set forth for her. A woman of great ambition, she is truly a diamond in the rough.
