Sin and the Church is born out of my own personal Christian journey and is a reflection of God’s grace and patience in my life. All of my choices and paths have resulted in a wonderful, work-in-progress that is being used for God’s glory. When God placed the idea in my spirit I was stirred to help others as God has helped and continues to help me. I know that as you read and ponder these truths God will reveal Himself to you…enjoy! WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW CAN HURT YOU...! This is something I have heard and I have also said at certain times in my life. As related to the issue of Sin and the Church I consider this more than a mere cliché: what you don't know can indeed hurt you. As time progresses it is not difficult to notice the rapid increase of spiritual decline in the Church, and its impact is far-reaching. The Church (the body of Christ) is made up of people, believers, followers of Christ; yet all too often there seems to be very little difference in the body of believers and those who do not state this claim. I contend, without apology, that there is an expectation of the Church that God has, which is not being carried out. I further contend that erroneous Christian doctrine is perpetuated to the degree that it is difficult to know what true Christian Doctrine really is. As a result, the Church's influence and power are not as effective as they should be; and some who are not a part of the Church claim they are not at all interested in ever becoming a part of the Church due to hypocrisy. Others who have been hurt by certain behaviors in the Church are no longer willing to continue on in Church fellowship. I am a proponent of those who tout the notion that belief drives behavior. Thus, I maintain that behaviors in the Church that are not godlike are due to beliefs that are not of true Christian doctrine. In the face of what seems gloom and doom for the Church God raises a prophetic word for our times. God knows there are some who are innocently being led astray by erroneous doctrine and He cares. God always has an answer for life's questions and concerns; in fact, He is the answer! God knows there are some who are innocently led astray by erroneous doctrine and confused, and He cares. He also cares about those who innocently or deceptively lead others astray and He offers grace, forgiveness, and restoration to the repentant heart. About the Author
Crystal M. Scott is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of Texas and California, in private practice in Irving, Texas. She holds a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and a certificate in Pastoral Counseling. Crystal is also the author of the book, "Take Back Your Life," Her passion and desire is that all people might come into the full knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, live holy and consecrated lives, and make a huge impact in the world according to the will of God; that THE CHURCH may ultimately live perfected lives as taught in Ephesians Chapter 4..."Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
