About the Book

Leroy was a little boy. Like most little boys, he was a boy that was little. Leroy was smart. He got good grades in school. Leroy never got caught doing anything wrong, but he could have. Leroy had friends. His best friend—well, the friend he spent most of his time with—was Stephon.

About the Author

Daniel L. Smith is an author, entrepreneur, and some other stuff. He helps whoever he can to see life through a prism of possibilities. Daniel has always enjoyed creating and writing. In fact, by the time he was six, he had already created characters and had designs for stories and songs. Soon afterwards, Daniel began his education and a career path. Now he is a teacher of diverse learners, which he truly enjoys. He is a teacher with Chicago Public Schools, providing instruction and support for diverse learners so they can participate in the education at the fullest of their ability. He got into this line of work in 2004 when he was transitioning in careers. His favorite part of having a career is being in an environment surrounded by fresh, young minds and imagination because it allows him to be creative at times, and that is why you enjoy it. Also, it allows him to write from experience, adding humor to his narrative, and this can be a lot of fun! When he’s not working on teaching, he likes to write and develop characters. He’s a funny guy, explorer, and father from the Midwest born in 1968. He thinks of himself as a go-getter person, and he’s also been known to work hard when challenged. The things he loves most in life are his sons, Josh and Jordan. He’s been writing for many years, and he really loves it. His idea of a perfect day would start with watching the sunrise. And then he’d walk or run (if he ever gets in shape) and finish off by listening to some soft music. The kinds of people he’d like to meet are ones who are knowledgeable and kind. That’s important to him because he gravitates toward good people.
