A Small Book of Poetry

About the Book

My poetry was inspired by my family and friends. Everyone who reads or hears my poetry likes it. My story is about my son, who is overseas. He wanted me to get a computer so we could stay in touch by e-mail. So to try out my poetry, I went on Poetry.com and entered a poem. I got the Editor’s award, and then they asked me to enter another poem for a chance to go Las Vegas, and I went to Las Vegas.

About the Author

Duane Thomas Sears—my nickname is Butch. My birthday is September 24, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio. I came to Kentucky at age two. My educational attainment is high school. My interests are fishing, camping, and sports. I have two sons and two stepdaughters. One of my sons is in a national guard. I am a retired truck driver. I write poetry, and I like to travel, play games, and be with family and friends.
