What I Write About I don’t write about perfect lilies and trees, Green pastures that are freeing, Colors of the rainbow that can bring some folks joy, I write about relationships gone bad, And some that left me sad, With bad taste in my mouth, thinking I wasted a whole lot of time, Making me, wait putting me on their schedule, With appointments that were not level playing, I write about workers with bad spirits, Seeking to kill and destroy mine, Like we are on a battlefield behind enemy lines, I can’t see the cross; everything I see is false, It almost made me crazy, A thin line between love and insanity, I wasn’t about to plea another false statement, Sentenced to life, I was saved by Jesus, You see He freed us, and now we have the victory, But I must continue to fight and write about this, It’s like hit or miss when you serve Him, I write about me on journeys, Trying to save lost stories, Putting things on paper, That may lose my favor, But it’s ok and better to please God and not man, Poems written according to, God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven, My poems are saturated with love and hatred, Against people’s spirits and experiences, That have brought me low enough to actually see and be in the midst of Christ, I believe I may have been in that temple Isaiah spoke about, Where God’s train had filled it out, I came out glowing and knowing who I was and whose I was, So I could write about it.
