"Sorry about what exactly Toks? Were you the one that got raped, not once but twice? Were you the one that was sold into slavery? Were you thrown into jail for a crime you did not commit? Were you? Answer me Toks, what exactly are you sorry about? "
Shaken by my outburst, Toks just stood there speechless.
"Yeah, that's what I thought. You know nothing!" I vomited, satisfied.

"Huh? Cat got your tongue?" I mocked.
"Stop your sarcasm Surprise, I'm not the enemy. I'm your friend babe"
"Yeah, right! Wait till you hear the latest development about me before you declare that we are still friends".

The reality of my announcement hit him like a heavy volcanic tornado on a cold Monday night. I saw fear flash across his face as he sank into the floor with his face in his palm. Was he crying? I couldn't tell.
I felt sorry for him, though I was the one in the predicament. I knew exactly why Toks wept. His dreams of me as his wife just gotshattered. Who could blame him? Now I'd be single for the rest of my life, that's if I even live to have that life.
Picking up his car keys, Toks just walked away.
