About the Book
Among those under my pastoral care was a particular man with Alzheimer's disease, Matt. As a part of my care, having found that writing poetry about the situations I encounter helps me see them more clearly, I developed a collection of poems about my visits with the patient. These I collected and shared with his family, and now, under slight revision, I offer them as a view of this one trajectory with the life under Alzheimer's.
About the Author
I am a retired minister from the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) living in the hills of the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia. During the course of my ministry, I began writing poetry; that was in the early 1980s. The process and product alike have been favorable to me. I began a few years of attendance on the online poetry worship Desert Moon Review in April 2004, finding that involvement helpful to me as a poet. I live in retirement with my wife of nearing forty-seven years, a pair of dogs, and a handful of cats. A pair of ducks adopted us in the summer of 2014 and seem content to hang around.
