Sherman, after breakfast, his tummy full, was headed for the creek for a relaxing swim, a quiet swim, a thoughtful swim. To see a duck swimming, all is calm on the surface, but their feet are paddling like crazy underneath! Sherman stopped paddling and allowed the motion of the water to loll him to sleep; dreaming of tiny bumpy, bright green, juicy cucumbers. The water started moving roughly; followed by a splat splash, splash splat! Sherman awoke thinking a fish; a big one! He looked around and saw a big one alright! But not a fish ........... !

A story of life in the country and all that it offers. Aunt Mimi and Uncle Poppy try to keep Sherman, their pet duck, from getting into trouble! But Sherman and Sadie, the little girl of four who lives next door, finds country life fun and sometimes forgets the rules! Uh oh!
About the Author
I have dealt with children for thirty-one years through my job driving a school bus. From age K through 12, each group offers me different challenges along with the changing times. Now that I have retired, I decided to put some of those memories to paper. Creating these fiction stories has given me a sense of accomplishment like no other project has done. Living in beautiful Tennessee, raised two children, and now off to another phase of life! Among many other hobbies such as reading, sewing, and cooking, writing had become my passion that I didn’t know existed until a friend encouraged me to try. And so here I am!
