About the Book

These poems are to introduce me to you and help you understand where I’m coming from. These poems range in experiences and styles. I have provided dates so you can have a sense of timeline. Enjoy.

About the Author

I was born and raised in both Maryland and DC because my parents are divorced. I attended one of the top private schools in Northeast DC and had the best teachers. I am a graduate of Morehouse College, with a bachelors of arts in psychology, and currently attending Hofstra University for my masters in industrial/organizational psychology. I love to read and write poetry, of which I’ve written more than two hundred poems, half of which are printed here (see volume 2 for the other half). My favorite poet is Shel Silverstein. I’ve submitted poems to military newspapers, poetry contests, and my church’s bulletins. I have received awards from several contests and recognition from the others. I am always looking for new ways to write and share experiences with the world. Truly love sharing my poems and watching the expressions on my readers’ faces. I hope you enjoy this collection despite that I won’t be able to see your expressions.
