About the Book
“Grandma, Let’s Go!!!” evolved from drawings that I made of my preschool-age grandson, Matthew. He loved to come to visit me in Stockton because we always had fun, especially at “Pixie Woods”. In addition, as a special education teacher, for the elementary grades, I was able to take my students to “Pixie Woods” every summer. Gradually, I just put my joys to rhyme, drew more pictures from photographs, and “with a wink and a snap” a book developed.
About the Author
I grew up in San Francisco during the 1940’s and 1950’s. I loved to draw, write stories, and the museums, and libraries were a walking distance or a bus ride away. I had fun entering different contests for creative children and the prizes and recognition were just a bonus. As an adult, I have mostly lived in California’s Central Valley. There, I became a mother, teacher, grandmother, artist, and a writer with “lots of places to make new friends”.
