"Do you see anything?" asked the Cocker Spaniel. " Not yet," returned the super dog. Situated just outside her front gate, Bernadette and Elt both stared at the night sky. Every imaginable star and planet could be viewed, for there wasn't a cloud in the sky. The canines weren't exactly sure what they were searching for. Elt remembered the egg-shaped Trianthian pod, and both he and Bernadette definitely recalled the appearing and disappearing via the transport modules. But how was Sparky going to pick up Elt? Surely Sparky didn't own a space vehicle or human flying machine. Elt wondered what was going on. What was happening on Trianthius? Had Coladeus and the Trianthians ever been able to return to the present after rescuing Elt and his friends in the time travel mission? Scores of questions continued to flow through both Elt's and Bernadette's minds. A strange yet exciting feeling overcame them both as they anxiously anticipated contact with Elt's friend Sparky. Would there be lights, sounds, or flashes? The pod cast only a shadow; would they even be able to see whatever Sparky was flying in? Within seconds, Elt’s and Bernadette’s keen sense of hearing detected an unfamiliar sound. It was heading their way. "I hear something," alerted Elt. "Me too,"added Bernadette. The sputtering ship approached. Luckily, the noise was not loud enough to wake a human from his or her sleep, for it was night, and it was late. Canines, however, easily heard the disturbance. Elt and Bernadette watched as the black shadow soared past them and headed straight for Elt's yard. "It's headed for my human's house," warned Elt. "Let'sgo!”" The two dogs dashed towards the Eltison house. Elt wanted to slow down, so Bernadette could keep up. But Elt was way too excited and abandoned Bernadette in a flash. She understood, for Elt was deeply concerned. Sparky, his friend, was most likely in that ship. In addition, that ship just flew too close for comfort over his home while his humans were fast asleep. Behind Ralph's house, just beyond the backyard fence, stretched a patch of woods. It was larger than the woods behind Sparky's house, but there was no field to land in, just trees. The vessel cruised over the fence and crashed into some trees in the woods. This ruckus did stir up some of the neighborhood guardians. Chin, the ever-diligent Chow-Chow, heard the screeching noise, and watched as the ship whizzed over his house. He yelped a series of warning barks, but the rest of the neighborhood dogs were inside. Jasmine was asleep on her porch when the excitement occurred. She opened her eyes as Elt zoomed past her house, followed seconds later by Bernadette.

Elt’s adventures continue…Ralph Eltison’s dynamic canine and Bernadette the Cocker Spaniel, along with all the familiar neighborhood pets, are swept up in another exciting episode. Sparky, the heroic Golden Retriever who joined Elt on the trip to Titan, is on his way to transport Elt to Trianthius. Their mission: find the source of what is weakening the Trianthian’s planet and defeat it. Before they depart, they will require Ralph’s assistance to help repair a severely damaged spaceship. Elt recruits Sarge and Jasmine to assist in the project. Coladeus suspects that Trianthius and its citizens are in danger. The captain and his crew, although wearied from both the mission to save the time travelers and the lack of energy in their own bodies, forge toward their home planet. Could Trianthius’s only known enemy be behind the conflict? Bernadette hasn’t been feeling like herself lately, and only she knows why. Jenny Rogers’s canine has a secret she needs to reveal to Elt, but he is away on a quest to save Trianthius. Will the super dog ever return home? Will she able to contact him in time? Professor Stanley Greenlee has just returned from the time machine venture. He has vowed to spend more time with his family and restore the observatory’s telescope, Magnus I. Once updated, he and his team of students can study the stars and planets. What he does witness one day will not only threaten Spring Valley, but the whole planet. Meanwhile, Ralph awaits Elt’s return. He feels helpless not being able to travel with his canine, but realizes that his role with Elt’s replicate is vital to the whole mission’s success. Elt and Sparky, along with the assistance of some fellow space heroes and a unique stowaway, must confront the enemy and restore life back to Trianthius without falling to the perils of the adversary and deep space itself.
About the Author
Dan was born and raised in Newport News, VA. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He has devoted nearly thirty years to the motion picture exhibition industry. Dan is currently employed with Lowe's Home Improvement. Dan has enjoyed writing all of his life. He has written numerous screenplays, one which was pitched to a major movie studio in 2003. When the author was ten, he wrote a story dedicated to his childhood canine Trixie. Years later, that story inspired him to create “The Adventures of ELT The Super Dog.Trouble on Trianthius is Dan's third novel in the "ELT The Super Dog" series. Dan now resides in Frederick, MD. He and his three sons enjoy the company of their two dogs and five cats.
