The story tells of the life of Jack Brown. He was born and raised in a small community near Tulsa, Oklahoma. After his High School graduation, he moved to Tulsa and found employment in a shoe store. After working there a short time, the store transferred him to Stockton, California to bring their Stockton branch up to solvency. He was good at everything he attempted. He had an opportunity to take a position with a Title Company in Stockton. Then he was asked to move to Chico to be the head of the Title Department at Mid Valley Title and Escrow. Later he was advanced to become President of that Title Company. The book continues with Jack and Nedra marrying in 2002. They spent a few years living and exploring the Mid West. They lived in Missouri and then in Oklahoma and became involved with the communities and Church until Jack’s health started to fail. At that point the couple moved back to Yuba City, California, to be near family and old friends. The story tells of their journey through Dementia/Alzheimer’s and how they coped with the trials of the disease. The hope for the story is that others that deal with the effects of this disease could benefit from the experiences of this couple, the right moves, and the mistakes that happened along the way. And that even at the worst of times the reader can find the good times to remember. The book is titled “Take the good times” and hope you, the caregiver, will hold on to the memories of the good times.

About the Book
The book is written with the caregiver in mind and is entitled Take the Good Times. Take it while the living is good, and then when life hands you lemons, don’t forget to remember the past good times. Even through the bad times, suddenly you will look at each other remembering the good, or your loved one will hug you and those are good times to always remember. You’ll need those memories in the future.
About the Author
Nedra Pattison Brown was born in the Northern California town of Chico. She grew up on a ranch, in the community of Ord Bend, located in an area triangulated between the towns of Willows, Orland and Chico. She graduated from Hamilton High School, took business classes at Chico State, and Rio Cosumnes College in Sacramento, California. She spent most of her working years in Sacramento in the Insurance and Real Estate businesses holding a license in both of these fields. She moved back to Chico in 1993 and worked at Mid Valley Title and Escrow until her retirement in the year 2000. While living in Chico she met and married Jack Brown, who this story is about.
