About the Book

From the day he was born in the late 1800s, Willie Cane’s father knew he was special. Willie was taught to trap and hunt in the Tensaw River Delta of South Alabama and became well known for his skills. He was a strong man with a reputation of having no fear and knowing the ways of the swamp. Like the popular stories Jeramiah Johnson and Grizzly Adams, this story is of a young man that learned life the hard way. Willie had one close friend Sam Calhoun and some animals that kept him company. One day a gypsy told him of things to come, even of his desires for a woman that also lived in the delta. Molly Bell, a neighbor, captured his heart as he did hers. Molly left the swamp for the city, leaving Willie alone with no reason and a broken heart that was until she returned. The story is full of history, excitement, mystery, and love.

About the Author

In keeping with his storytelling, Eddie has followed along the same line as his last book, Gifts of Onile. He has taken a poem from his first book, Truth Is, and wrote a full length tale of the life of a young man growing up on the Tensas River Delta in the lower part of south Alabama. The book titled Under the Willow is filled with actual locations of the small community of Stockton, Alabama, and the story is dotted with history. Eddie has retired and is now spending more time writing and enjoying the outdoors. His thirty-six years with the Mobile Police Department has given him ideas and he is now working on his fourth book. He is now writing a murder mystery. The story is in the works and should be completed very soon. Many things are revealed in this tale and Eddie hopes that you enjoy the book.
