A Letter to My Love I don't know where to start What I do know is that you have my heart You really are the love of my life And without any strife You are my soulmate And I love when you are my date The rest of my life will be spent with you From the night to the morning dew You saved me from the dark version of me And when I was sick, you made me tea You cuddle me while I read a book With these actions, my heart, you took I never want to be with anyone else What we have is true, anyone else would be false Our bond is stronger than any other We will always have each other Forever and always Our love will last til close Love always Your beautiful little rose The Empty House I glance out my window at the empty house It sits there in silence Weeping for its owner to come home Someone lives there but it is not the same Everything changed I glance out my window at the empty house Memories flooding back A young girl runs up and hugs her grandfather He hugs her tight and never wants to let her go Little did she know I glance out my window at the empty house That young girl was me Little did I know That house would change forever There would be a day the resident was gone This house would never be the same without him Never Put the Blade Away Feelings change Scars don’t fade Don’t make a mistake Put that blade away It might be bad now It will get better It’s always darkest Before the light The suffering will end In times to come You will be able to smile Without force No need to make marks Even if they are hidden You will look back and regret it Every time you see them

About the Book
This book of poetry describes every kind of emotion—from love to heartbreak, happiness to depression, grief and loss to the beauty of nature. No matter what kind of day you are having, there is something in here to relate to.
About the Author
Emily Stanzini is a freshman at SUNY College at Old Westbury with a Psychology major. She is a part of the honors college there. She is also involved in the Old Westbury Music Society. Emily graduated from Eastport South Manor High School last year where she was a part of the Concert Choir. She also danced at Barbara Rocco Dance and Tumbling for eleven years. This is her first book to be published and she is thrilled to share her talent with the world.
