Her mother got angry and told June that she was littering and that she needed to get the bottle and throw it away when they found a trash can. Upset that she couldn't do cartwheels, June went into the water and retrieved the bottle. June explained that there was no trash can in sight, it was only one small bottle, and that she would rather do cartwheels than to hold the empty bottle. As they continued walking along the beach, June's mother explained that the Earth is our home, that all people live on and have to share the home, and that we all have to help keep it clean and beautiful.

About the Book
A Little Yellow Cap teaches children the importance of throwing away trash and not littering. It introduces children to the concept of recycling and volunteering to help keep the world clean.
About the Author
June Monroe was born in the Oaknoll Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. She currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of her goals has been to write a book. This is her first published book. She is biracial with a Japanese mother and caucasian-American father. She has been in the education field for over 15 years. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a Master of Science degree in educational administration from Mount St. Mary’s College.
