About the Book

How often in life are we confronted with situations that cause distress and indecision, sometimes even dejection and depression? Where, we wonder, can we find hope and promise? Sometimes the love we extend to another individual does not induce love in return. Unrequited love often leads to heartache, even heartbreak. Where, we ask, can we find the love we seek and need? And what of life hereafter? Can one seek and find peace and promise in the great beyond? The poetry found in this book attempts to address some of these concerns that so often beset and perplex us. Hopefully, in reading these works, readers will find a measure of fulfillment, a path to hope, peace, and promise.

About the Author

The author, an educator, served four years as a high school teacher of English and social studies. Having been awarded a Kellogg Foundation Fellowship in the Junior College Leadership Program, he completed post-graduate studies at Stanford University and until his retirement in 1993, served as a junior college administrator and faculty member. Among the courses he taught was English Composition. During these years and after, he wrote numerous poems, essays, and short stories. He was from time to time invited to deliver a sermon at the church he attended in Rangely, Colorado. During a period of time when the church was engaged in a search for a new pastor, he served as interim pastor. Since his retirement, the author has remained active, chiefly in matters affecting senior citizens. He lives in Littleton, Colorado.
