About the Book
Edith Bosworth, the daughter of the wealthiest black family on the Eastern Shore, meets a novelist in the college library. They quickly become good friends and lovers against her mother’s wishes. On New Year’s Day, her parents are visited by someone from the past that destroys their daughter’s happiness. Edith’s mother’s long-term affair with her husband’s best friend takes an ironic twist. Ellen, Edith’s mother, sees a side of her meek and mild husband that she never thought existed. The Bosworth family house a series of secrets with a host of startling consequences.
About the Author
Mike Fountain was born on the Eastern Shore and still lives there today with his wife and siblings. He has been writing poems, short stories and novels since he was seven. Autumn Leaves is a novel written when he was fifteen. It was his first attempt writing a story amidst the community in which he lived. Today many places and stores mentioned in the book have disappeared and the small town has grewn into a metropolis. Mike worked in the nursing field most of his life and retired April 2014.
