About the Book

It is in the air. Halloween has passed, and so has Thanksgiving, and we are in December. Christmas is near. Let Us Celebrate the Season! is a different kind of advent calendar. There are twenty-seven poems and stories, each to be read on the day you open the book in December, should it be December 1 or December 21 or any other December day. I remember my mother doing so with a rather special Advent calendar when my sister and I were children. Every evening, she took my sister and me on her lap, and we talked about the little verse on the calendar door and what it meant. It was always such a special event. Hope you find this book special as well.

About the Author

Brigitta Gisella Geltrich-Ludgate was born in Kitale, Kenya, as a British subject. She spent her education years in Germany, in Switzerland, and in Canada. She holds an AA degree in creative writing from the Palmer Writing Institute and an ABD (all but defending dissertation) degree from the University of California Los Angeles in Germanic Linguistics and Germanic Folklore. Brigitta Gisella Geltrich-Ludgate’s mother spent hours telling Brigitta fairy tales in German. Special moments came when her mother and her sister opened the doors to an Advent calendar along with Brigitta and then the three of them discussed what they found behind each door, which often led to another fairy tale told by Brigitta’s mother. This was the inspiration of creating Let Us Celebrate the Season!
