Mesquite Flats was an insignificant, boring little Texas town, that’s why she chose it. Hardly a speck on the map, it seemed the perfect place for Angela Holiday to escape from her past and start over. For ten years, everything seemed promising, her life, career, even her dreams. Comforting, soothing, visions of a time when life was simple and fairytales could come true. But sweet dreams don’t often last forever, and once again Angela’s life is in crisis. She’s lost her job, is buried in debt, and the bank is just days away from taking her home. Add in needing surgery for a serious illness and the stress of a daughter’s wild night life, and she is about to drown in despair.

About the Author

Mike Phipps is living the good life as supervisor of a cattle ranch on the Northern California coast. He is also the author of Shadow of an Assassin and co-author of A Moment in Time with his niece, Justine.

Justine Phipps was born and raised in the Bay Area. She is currently finishing her final year of undergraduate education at California Polytechnic State University. Post graduation, she will be pursuing her teaching credential in higher education.
