Weeping Walls

On a dark, dismal evening, about 7:30 p.m., as I sat alone in a small park on the edge of town, the wind started to increase its intensity.  I could see very low clouds beginning to drift across the sky. The leaves on the ground had begun to kite around, making rustling sounds.  I could feel a chill from the air entering through the buttoned spaces on my hooded cotton shirt. I hadn’t gone out expecting such a beautiful day  to become so increasingly dreary as it wore on. A few hours had passed and I was still there in solitude, only now, the winds had calmed and the night had turned into peaceful bliss. The moon  finally showed itself and lit up the sky. There was silence all around, not a whisper in the wind nor a murmur of the nightly insects that ruled.  I could hear myself breathe, that’s when I realized something had terribly gone wrong. The forces that lay beyond anyone’s trivial imagination,  beyond the explanations of societal norms were at work. The wings of unimaginable evil, it seemed, had started to flutter its cruel wings somewhere  once again. Someone somewhere was going to be seduced into immense agony and hatred. Their life was going to be forever altered and never would  someone close, ever come to terms with the comprehension of such dark and evil forces. Our understanding of such forces will always be met with skepticism, not because we are mere humans but we lack the ability, or more appropriately,  we suppress the ability to entertain the education of a power greater than ourselves. We make attempts to test tube every occurrence, every oddity,  hoping that there’d be logic and explanatory data. We are afraid to face an undeniable reality, a reality that exists amongst us but was created by the  ultimate of evil power that was summoned by our own brethren. As my mind drifted and the wisdom that I had gained started addressing different questions, I wondered to myself if there would be anyone to help  the next unexpected victim of such atrocities that I have endured. I had come to understand and realize over the past few months, that it’s not or  wasn’t a one-time occurrence but it’s simultaneously occurring in hundreds, if not thousands, of places throughout our comfortable world. An evil  within our society, amongst our leaders and our innocent children. I wondered then, what I could do to help such victims. With a sword, with a  gun – I couldn’t; but the experience and the wisdom I had gained most certainly would be of help to the less fortunate. After all, I am breathing today.  I may not ever be one hundred percent anymore but I am blessed enough to let it be known to as many as I could; to educate my friends, my family,  and the people of the world, about an uncertain and despicable evil that challenges the beliefs and foundation of what life is constructed upon.  My eyes then closed, and like pressing the rewind button on a video recorder, I returned to the beginning, to the beginning, to the beginning...
