About the Author

My name is Tammy Sexton. I have 2 (almost) adult children who inspire me every day to do the best I can do at whatever I’m doing. I grew up in a small farming town in Illinois. It’s the kind of place where the people feel like family and even if you’ve never been there, you feel at home. I graduated in 1998 from Lakeland college in Mattoon, Illinois as a registered nurse. I have worked in many fields of nursing and have been writing poetry on the side for quite some time. During my career, and in my own life, I have witnessed the wide spectrum of emotions from joy of a brand-new baby to saying final goodbye’s. I have captured these moments and found the poetic expression within them. I hope to reach something in everyone through my words.
