About the Book

Andie is an investigative journalist working at the only remaining mainstream news organization with recognized credibility in the U.S. A colleague is tragically killed while covering the war in the Middle East. Around the same time, Andie begins to receive mysterious calls-addressing her by name, asking for help-from a person seemingly trapped and unknown to her. As she begins her research for a front-page, above-the-fold tribute to her late colleague, Andie learns that she was investigating strategic destruction beyond the immediate purposes of the conflict. It is now up to Andie to carry on her colleague’s work, exposing those responsible for waging war on an entire population…of color. But it’s not going to be easy. As her own news organization begins to morph, and her safety is threatened by rogue agents, Andie is forced to endanger herself and others in a race to prevent an international catastrophe.

About the Author

P.J. Allen has spent decades expanding on her Ph.D. in communication from Florida State University, focusing on international development in countries such as Nepal, Thailand, India, Ethiopia, Egypt, Madagascar, Ghana, Rep. of Georgia, and Russia. Allen has visited and brings experience from all seven continents to her novels, weaving in cultures, history, the environment, people, and politics into fictionalized thrillers about current events. Allen has found people worldwide to be hospitable, generous and helpful despite the daily headlines that grip our attention with misdeeds, transgression and betrayals. Her experiences have parleyed insights into how governmental policies affect our quality of life and how important information, and the media that present it, are to people making informed decisions to protect and better their lives. The author is also a licensed acupuncturist. Her other novels include The Yeti Quotient, Lies Beneath Ellicott City, and Dead Reckoning in Frederick. www.pjallen.com
