As I turned to go back to my desk, I felt a sharp pain on my right arm. I almost said ouch but stopped myself before I had everyone looking at me again. I started to take a step and looked down at the floor. There was a shiny, silver bb lying there. Hmm, evidently somebody shot me with a pea shooter! I turned around and looked toward the back of the room. Herman had his hands folded over his chest as if in prayer and was staring up at the ceiling with an angelic smile on his face. Interesting. I guess I'm going to have to watch out for him, too.

About the Book
Readin', Writin' & Hecklin' is the third book in the Aubrey Burke History Adventure series. Now Aubrey is transported back in time to 1901. She finds herself attending a one-room schoolhouse and has to deal with a nasty bully.
About the Author
Carol Castor lives on a farm in the northwest corner of Ohio. A retired museum curator, she enjoys dabbling in many aspects of the arts. On the musical side, she enjoys singing in her local church's choirs, produces torn paper artwork and has painted two barn murals on her family's farms. Writing the Aubrey Burke History Adventures has enabled her to promote real historical sites that she administered during her career as a curator. Her aim now is to entertain children with these stories and hope they learn something in the process as well.
