About the Author
Mrs. Alston lives in Durham, NC with her husband Ricky and her youngest adult son, Joshua. She also has two other adult children that are living in two other cities in North Carolina, Edwin and Tawanna. Mrs. Alston grew up in Tabor City, NC and has been writing since she won a poetry contest in elementary school. Upon graduating from Tabor City High School, Mrs. Alston attended North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC, where she received her B. A. in Elementary Education. She started teaching for Durham Public Schools at Lakewood Elementary School where she taught for thirty-seven and a half years. She learned so many wonderful things about children and how they learn. Other than being certified in Elementary Education, Mrs. Alston is certified in Gifted and Talented Education and is a Certified State Mentor. Mrs. Alston has dreamed of writing books and now she is allowing all of you into her world of books.
