Skeletons in the Closet

"I can help you," a deep voice stirred Tim from his slumber. "Who is that?" Tim said. The room was dark and cold. Tim reached for the nightstand, searching for his glasses, only to recall his mother had them for repair. "It does not matter who I am," the voice hissed, "It matters only that I can help you." "Help me? How?" "I can make sure that Kevin never messes with you again. You want that, don't you, Tim," the voice spoke as if on the wind as it blew in the cracked window. "You can?" Tim said, rubbing his eyes. "Yes, I can," the voice sizzled low as if trying to purr, "I just need a little something from you," a pair of red eyes emerged floating in the darkness. "What can I give you?" Time gasped. "I want nothing more than you to thank me after the deed is done." "That's it?" Tim said, rubbing his eyes, "I can do that." "So, shall it be done then," the voice said as the eyes faded. "Now rest. I'll take care of everything." Tim drifted off to sleep without a worry on his mind just as Kevin's eyes popped open across the street. *** "Kevin," the voice rumbled, shaking the bully awake. "Hello," Kevin sat up as the creature's eyes burned in the shadows, "it's you! What are you doing here?" I don't need protecting from a bully." "No, Kevin," the mysterious entity hissed, "I'm here to punish you." "Punish me! For what?" "You've been bad," the beast said, as its red eyes vanished and then reappeared next to Kevin. "You've become a bully, just like the bully I saved you from." "No, no," Kevin stuttered, "I'm not! I'm not!" "Tim would argue otherwise." "Please don't hurt me," Kevin's voice shook. "Did you not beg for the bully who picked on you to be hurt? Did you not smile when he met his final painful fate?" "Y-Y-Yes, b-b-but." "There are consequences to your actions, my child," the creature said. "You should know that better than anyone." "I'm sorry," Kevin cried. "It's too late for sorry," the creature snarled as tentacles shot out of the darkness, wrapping around the freckle-faced child. "I've found another child to feed off of." The beast's red eyes shimmered as it squeezed the husky limbs of the frightened child. Resting only a moment before exhorting a quick and massive force snapping Kevin's bones. Deep evil laughter echoed through the room as Kevin's body was tossed about. His screams were swallowed up by the night as he relived every act of torture and violence he created before being squeezed to death by the dreadful beast. He was placed back in his bed when it was done, and his killer strolled away in the darkness.
