We are finally out of school for Christmas break! Now we are counting the days until Christmas! Seven more days to go! Standing still in the woods behind our house, Doug, Steve, and I all had twinkles in our eyes. We were so excited! We watched Doc, JuJu and Tommy Lee cut down the perfectly shaped tree. They could always find the best trees. We all stepped back quickly and then ran to help pick it up when it fell to the ground. Our Christmas Tree! ------------------- Tonight, we were all sleeping at Grandma Pearl’s house. The whole house was filled with family, food, and love. We were happy and had fun playing games and listening to Christmas stories. I could hear the wind whistling. It's so cold outside. On the inside, our wood-burning stove kept the rooms warm. The quilts Grandma Pearl, Auntie Martha, and Mama Hattie made, kept us all warm too. -------------------- We are having so much fun, riding in our new red wagon, up and down the mini hill! Steve, Doug, and I, piled on the red wagon. Tommy Lee pulled and JuJu and Doc pushed us off. Then it happened, the wagon turned over with all of us on it! The wheels were flying everywhere! I remember rolling over and over down the hillside, laughing as we rolled!

This is the fifth book of Yvonne Bardwell Cox’s series entitled “Pearlie … I Dream”. Each book is about a day in the life of Pearlie. Pearlie’s dreams and hopes are so real, that she believes they all will come true. She dreams of Santa bringing gifts while everyone is asleep under warm blankets as it snows outside. Pearlie dreams of happiness, and when she awakes, the same happiness fills the air with laughter and inspires smiles of joy on the faces of her family. Pearlie gains an understanding and believes the true meaning of Christmas is Love and Peace in the home!
About the Author
Yvonne Bardwell Cox and her husband Pastor Tommy L. Cox resides in Columbus, Mississippi. She is a proud alumnus, successfully completed educational degree status to obtain a Bachelor - Special Education (Jackson State University, Jackson, MS), Master and an Educational Specialist in Administration and Supervision (Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS). She is a lifetime professional educator and learner, who believes in securing educational opportunities for all children. A retired Director (Special Education, Gifted Education and 504 Services), Education Consultant and prior School Board member. She has a broad array of teaching and administrative experiences. Having worked in school districts throughout (Mississippi, Georgia, and Tennessee), her desire to author children books is a lifetime dream come true. The Pearlie I Dream Book Series is a succession of non-fiction, diverse, educational - teaching and learning tools with an abundance of family values and love. My beloved character, Pearlie is the center of her own personal stories. She writes to share how a child thinks and will works through life situations and circumstances. Pearlie shares precious memories and sometimes hardships as a small child. These life experiences prepared her for future aspirations that she could only dream of.
