About the Author
The Author is a single Bahamian female with eclectic taste and a passion for reading, writing, dancing, and traveling. She has earned Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Master of Business Administration degrees and is a certified trust professional. Her passion for reading emanated from a desire to escape the impoverished neighborhood in which she lived. When not reading, the Author daydreamed a lot; this led to her penning her own stories. “From Many a Mangled Truth a War is Won” by Clifford Dyment was a piece that inspired the Author to deep thought and encouraged her love for poetry. The Author developed through her educational pursuits and exposure to many cultures. She worked at the International Student Center at Macalester College (her alma mater). Here, the premises also housed the World Press Institute. A college with a global and diverse student body alongside an agency dedicated to world affairs; provided the Author unique environment to bloom. Professionally, the Author works to bring to life the plans envisioned by others which poses an interesting situation when her dreams are pending. The mentioned created the impetus for the Author to push to realize one of those dreams; sharing her poetry. The Author dedicates the book in memory of her mother and sister, Louise Riley and Gwendolyn Mortimer.
