It was the first day of spring, and for Fern this was always the hardest day of the year. This was the day all the bunnies went outside and showed off their shiny spring tails. Fern did not have a big tail like the others, so the other bunnies would tease her and point out Fern’s small fluff-less tail. Fern looked in the mirror and wished for her tail to grow so they would not make fun of her anymore. That was when Fern’s grand idea hopped into her mind. She was going to find herself a new cotton tail. Fern told her mom she was going for a walk and rushed out the door.

About the Book
When Fern is teased about her not so puffy tail, she is determined to find a new one to help her fit in. But when the cauliflower tail slips off, the coral tail scratches her bottom, and the cotton tail turns to mush, Fern learns that what matters most is what she thinks about her own tail.
About the Author
Shanell Sager was born and raised in a small town in northwest Kansas. Being a rodeo queen in the past, some believe she may have even been born in a barn. Shanell enjoys the company of her family, friends, and animals. Some of these animals were the inspiration for her first book Fern's Not So Puffy Tail.
