How can we manage enemy attacks?
As we cooperate with God, we first learn that our enemy attacks us in practical holiness. Satan shows up to attack us, co-laborers of his activate, Christians become misguided, and people enter error. Knowing this happens, we realize right away that assurance, confidence, security, and understanding fall to the ground. These attacks by the enemy are a sure sign that the gates of hell are pressing. We need our armor, accept our cross, know the fundamental truths, and seek God.
I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousand of people, that have set themselves against me round about. Psalm 3:5-6 (KJV)
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
We must at such times apply governing truths: what spiritual resources are available to us that instruct us in God’s Word? We may have to go back to the last point where the Holy Spirit led us to gain our position as before. Where were we headed? We can use the fundamental truths to fight Satan off. We need to recall any spiritual training and attend to our meditation to put godliness in our hearts for the Holy Spirit to use. We must identify the area we left the path and get back on and move forward. We must let God guide us since Jesus is the key to our example and experience. We may have to go to pastoral authorities. We must speak faith or scripture to ourselves. We can talk with God as well. Let us learn to position ourselves in God’s presence so we can acquire divine favor for all we need. Sometimes we may need to shout the Lord's rebuke at Satan to drive him off. We can get to a good place alone and speak the truth inwardly. We must acknowledge God as we take a stand.
We may have to tell apposing spiritual opposition that we will stand against it, where God has placed us. Usually, we should pick our battles carefully and avoid violating others. But there are times we must upset people. When we talk to God, tell him what is going on and what we are going through. Let us utilize our relationship with God without bickering and complaining or fretting and fuming. Ask God for his advice and the power to do it. Let us ask, “What’s going on, God?” How can I do your will in this? We must examine what is going on.
What did Satan do to start the chaos? What trigger event did we give an adverse reaction to? Let us apply truth responsibly to it and respond the right way. We must demonstrate the correct type of response which will heal the group or people involved. We must talk to contentious members to implement peaceful solutions. Another key to help us is to speak the truth in a caring way. Yes, speak God’s Word to the situation in love, “Peace be still!” If we talk to a group of obnoxious people to calm them down, say something like, “What I believe would be helpful for our group is to love one another. Can we exercise love toward each other?” We must address Satan with “The Lord rebuke thee Satan.” We need to manage ourselves and others with patients. Repeat to God that we need him and appreciate him and will do as he says with his help. We must speak health, maintain our life, and be responsible with our freedom before God.
