About the Book

Over the span of a couple decades (80’s and 90’s), Michael Supe Granda held the privilege of a media credential into Busch Stadium, a notepad, access to the inner workings of a professional baseball team, and the warm embrace of the St. Louis Cardinals family. This afforded him the chance to meet and become friends with many of the players, coaches, executives, and pillars. He began to write humorous, monthly articles, pouring his passion for the game and his team into each one. As they began to get published in numerous publications around the Midwest, he learned that folks really enjoyed them. Fowl Ball is the accumulation of those articles, from over the years. It is his third, self-published book, coming on the heels of his 2008 tome, It Shined: the saga of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils and his 2022 effort, Fat & Funny (So, you want to be Santa Claus).

About the Author

As a young lad, growing up in St. Louis, Michael Supe Granda became enthralled with baseball (in general) and the St. Louis Cardinals (in particular). As an adult, along with becoming an accomplished musician, he became an avid song and baseball writer. Along with traveling the world, his songs have been recorded by Chet Atkins, Augie Meyers, Walter Egan, Dr. Demento, and Rockpile’s Billy Bremner. At seventy-three, he still actively records and performs with the Ozarks, as well as his numerous side projects (Silly Grandpa, Supe & the Sandwiches, the Garbonzos, Santa Claus, Mark & Mike). He lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where he’s resided for the past three decades, gigging, writing, recording, watching baseball, and tending to his small record label/publishing company, Missouri Mule Music. ‘Fowl Ball’ is his fourth, self-published book, coming on the heels of his 2008 tome, ‘It Shined: the saga of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils’, his 2022 effort, ‘Fat & Funny (So, You Want to be Santa Claus)’, and his 2023 children’s coloring book, ‘Silly Grandpa Has a Good Day’. His passion for baseball and the Cardinals remains to this day.
