One night, at bedtime, a wise old grandmother whispered to her grandchildren: “The sky is not blue, it’s true!” “What, Nana?” said the children, “it surely is blue – that can’t be true. “Then why is it black at night?” she asked “Well, ‘cuz the sun’s not out, silly Nana!” they replied. “Aha!” she said, “You agree, you see – the sky is not blue – it’s true!” “But it’s just because there’s no light, Nana – it’ll be blue in the morning!” “Oh, Nana, you’re teasing us so – everybody knows the sky is blue, just not at night!” . . . And so, the children continue to explore the solution to this curious statement by their grandmother.

About the Book
The Sky Is Not Blue - It’s True! is an intriguing prose/poetry story of a grandmother’s quixotic statement to her grandchildren at bedtime, as stated in the title. The seeming absurdity of her claim is explored through a series of questions that lead the children through the physics of light and color, culminating in a delightful rainbow of color in the sky. From sunrises and sunsets, enjoyed by everyone everywhere, the grandmother helps them discover the magic of sight as a window to oneness with all in the universe. This book is a sequel to the discoveries in his first title, “True Moon.”
About the Author
David J. Biviano, Ph.D. is the father of six children, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He has been a philosophy professor, religious educator and youth minister, a juvenile justice consultant, and a human resources/workforce diversity educator and trainer. His spiritual path with Thich Nhat Hanh led him to found The Cambodian Children’s House of Peace in Siem Reap, Cambodia, where he led meditation and teaching about living in peace. He is now retired, enjoying traveling and writing. Alexander Blair Photography specializes in nature and human interest photography Felix Gutierrez is a Graphic Designer, a recent graduate of Western New Mexico University
