About the Book

                Reflective Poetry: Petals of the Heart is Mazurick’s second published book. It is a collection of Mazurick’s poetry. In this book, she reflects on her personal experiences, her thoughts, and her feelings. She also reflects on life, emotions, people, movies, dreams, animals, historical people, and historical events. She wrote this book to remind others to take time to reflect. Life is a gift and reflection is a part of self growth.

About the Author

Shannon K. Mazurick has loved writing since a young age. She resides in Connecticut and graduated Saint Joseph College with a Bachelors degree in English. She has a minor in Psychology. Mazurick was born with Cerebral Palsy and she always tries her best. She has been using a computer since she was a baby and the computer continues to be a very useful tool for her.

Writing helps Mazurick express herself and reflect on her experiences. She has wanted to become a published author for a few years and recently found the time to pursue her writing. Reflective Poetry: Petals of the Heart is Mazurick’s second published book. She is the proud author of Poetry as the Year Goes By and she is planning on publishing other books in the future. Mazurick hopes to inspire others through her writing and through her positive outlook on life. She wrote this book to remind others to take time to reflect. Life is a gift and reflection is a part of self growth.

Mazurick is the artist of the sunflower on the cover. The piece is titled, ‘Petals of the Heart.’ The picture relates to the self growth and reflection theme of the book. The petals connection with the heart symbolizes the formation of a beautiful creation. Through reflection, life becomes clearer and it is learned that life is a journey of creation.
