Subtle blue light surrounded the Good Witch, and the image faded from Kirrie’s mind. The little she-Drelve awakened, sat up, and suffered a terrible headache. Remembering what she had learned, Kirrie took one of the enhancing tubers she had harvested, gently rubbed its rough surface, and softly kissed the shell. The shell opened. Kirrie ingested the delicious purplish fruit and soon her headache abated. Still tired, the young Drelve fell backward onto the bed, sighed deeply, and fell asleep.
Soon a gentle peck on her tree told her it was time to awaken and begin the return to Alms Glen. Kirrie awakened and rubbed her still sleepy eyes. The dream festered in her mind. Trying to brush the images aside, she stood, stretched, and began to gather her belongings.
Wait!
Grayness bathed her room.
The flickering gray light mimicked the previous season’s Approximation of the Gray Wanderer Andreas. Kirrie peered quickly through the tree’s bark, noted the dark period continued, and did not see the wandering sun Andreas. The she-Drelve heard a faint humming sound and saw something spinning in the grayness of the little tree’s interior. The gray light emanated from a small spherical stone hovering in the corner of the little room.
Was the deep gray rock …the stone she had seen in her dream?
Kirrie reached out and quickly took the stone from the air. When the she-Drelve touched the floating stone, the artifact warmed, altered its shape, and conformed to the size and shape of the little she-Drelve’s hand. Kirrie placed the gray stone in the pocket of her walking cloak. The stone pressed against her orange-yellow skin and meld with the she-Drelve. Inexplicably, Kirrie felt comforted.
In a few moments another knock on the tree reminded her of the time. The little Drelve finished gathering her few items, cleaned the interior of the guest room, and exited the tree.

About the Book
The Lost Spellweaver begins the Elfdreams series. Set in ancient Parallan, the tale chronicles events that occurred long before the Draiths came to prominence in the World of the Three Suns. When the wandering gray sun Andreas draws near Parallan, Magick touches the dwellers of the primitive world. Only during the Approximations of Andreas are Spellweavers born to the forest dwellers, the Drelves. Generations of Drelves went about their lives, lived in harmony with the forest, and harvested the tubers of the enhancing plant, which grew only in the exotic Green Vale, the home of the Thirttene friends and one of only two green places in the mostly orange-yellow World of the Three Suns. The Drelves’ enemies, gnarly goblin-like Kiennites and powerful wolf-faced Drolls, assailed the forest folk at every opportunity. After many Approximations resulted in no Spellweavers, twin Spellweavers are born and kindle the Drelves’ hopes. Wisps of Magick connect other worlds to Parallan. Masters of the powerful ability Translocation, Dreamraiders use these threads of Magick to influence events in Parallan. What motivates the Dreamraiders? Can dreams come true? Should dreams come true?
