About the Book
The Masquerade Ball is Gerald’s fourth book of poetry; it’s a collection of both poems and some expressions dealing with life issues. Like the first three books, this book again explores aspects of life that most people shy away from. Besides being a tool for dialog between mature adults, it dives into that deep subject as to why people play games with one another and the tricks folks use to disguise true feelings or intentions. Gerald continues to use poetry to get his views across to a broad audience in hopes some will receive a message that will allow them to grow intellectually and spiritually. Over the past few years, he has learned that many individuals have been turned away from poetry by the simple fact that they don’t understand it, they can’t relate to it, or that it serves no purpose in their lives. Gerald has resolved those types of issues by making his brand of poetry easy to read and comprehend. G. W. Jones
About the Author
Gerald W. Jones is a man known for being straightforward when it comes to delivering messages on controversial issues of life. Gerald has used poetry to convey most of his ideas and concerns, dealing with daily living and topics on social behavior. Many of the reviews and comments on his first three books have been truly positive, but some question why he hasn’t done a children’s book by this time. They feel because of his insight on social issues, a children’s book should be in the near future. Gerald has assured everyone that one is in the works, but for now, he will continue to address adult issues. With that in mind, Gerald has continued where he feels there is a greater need, and that’s with mature audiences. With that explained, he now introduces his fourth book, The Masquerade Ball, which is a collection of some of his most praised poems dealing with relationships and habits people display during their interactions with others. Gerald adds that the title was chosen due to what he has witnessed in his lifetime as people played games and donned masks, whether real or illusionary, to conceal who they are or what their true intentions are. The Masquerade Ball has been anticipated for over one year by his many readers after Gerald was acknowledged in the 2013 and 2014 editions of the World Poetry Yearbook. The book originates in China and includes 263 poets from 100 countries. In 2015 Gerald won the Jesse Redman Faust Award for poetry with his last book Listen to My Soul, so everyone is expecting more from this current book. Gerald truly believes this book will meet their expectations and more with its direct approach to human nature.
