About the Book

This is the author’s debut collection of sentimental poetry and short stories that are written based upon real-life experiences and some fictional situations.  These poems and stories address love, friendships, families, comical situations, and the natural world. Pictures (mostly taken by the author, others used with permission) are scenic moments captured in South Carolina, Tennessee, and Hawaii.

About the Author

The author was first published in 1989 in Newberry College's Kinickinick, a chapbook published by the college. She has since been published in four anthologies. She is a lifetime member of The International Society of Poets. She began writing poetry while she was a student at Walhalla Middle School in Walhalla, SC and has continued to write through her adult life. When asked about what inspires her writings, Candice replied, "It can be a feeling I've had, an emotion I've experienced, a phrase or a proverb, an idea that pops into my head, something I've witnessed or thought about at school, a scene from a movie, something overheard in a converstation, well, just about anything can inspire me really." The author has two other books to be published, one is Wrappers Wanted, a mathematical tale about how to calculate surface area and the second is another poetry book (untitled). Look for these soon!
