About the Book

The heads have stopped spinning from the variety of pieces in Lost and Found and the smoke has cleared from the hard-hitting assault of Locked and Loaded.  Now comes the unveiling of a two-part pulse quickening collection of fragments from human emotion.

Roses and Blood slithers through out the cracks of emotions and feelings we have all felt at one time or another.  Whether it’s the warm spark of a new found love or the dying flame of a relationship torn apart.  Some have even felt the sweat inducing heat of erotic lust.  The roller coaster ride we go through in almost any situation when we deal with matters of the heart.

Though no matter how warm and secure we may feel, we can never escape from the icy grip of fear and horror.  It can freeze the warmest thought and release the restraints of a dark imagination.  Where anything can be a creature and every sound becomes a haunting echo.  Thoughts and images drawn from daily newspaper articles and stories that are broadcasted on the nightly news.  Creepy visions created and inspired by classic horror stories and films.  Personal fears we keep hidden inside ourselves that only surface when we are alone or in the dark.  The chill that rips down your spine and makes you check the closet twice before going to bed.

Roses and Blood will lure you in and make you feel loved and secure then, like the flip of a switch, have you feeling scared and vulnerable.  So curl up in your favorite chair and enjoy.

About the Author

Rodney S. Owens, author of the poetry books

Lost and Found and Locked and Loaded, is back with another collection of his writings.  His first two books covered many faucets of human emotion and personal situations.  He has been writing down his thoughts about life and events since he was eighteen.  Rodney, like a lot of other people, found that it was easier to put thoughts and emotions down on paper than it was to vocalize them.  For roughly nineteen years he has been making a paper trial of poetry behind him.  With the passing away of his father in 1990, Rodney’s deepest feelings started surfacing in his writings.  His heart was becoming more exposed, pen and paper helped him with his grieving and pain.  He shared the strength that he found, hoping it would help others with the rough parts of life.  This allowed him to widen his writing range even more.  Rodney loves sharing his thoughts and feelings in a creative way.  His way with words can make a reader either laugh, cry or sometimes just stop and think.  Rodney’s first two collections contained a variety of humor and sadness, anger and world tragedies.

In his latest book, Roses and Blood, he writes about love and the ups and downs of relationships.  He also takes you into a dark and eerie world full of bone chilling fun.  With future plans of creating short stories, Rodney has one more ‘poetic’ surprise up his sleeve just for his fans and readers.
