In the gardens Aloe Vera was growing. I was woken up once when lying on a sun bed near the old swimming pool (there were two pools) by a man who was wandering along the beach, he stopped and tickled my leg with a piece of Aloe Vera. As I opened my eyes I asked him very politely to leave me alone, which fortunately he did, once he realised that I wasn’t going to purchase any from him. Cheek! The Aloe Vera was growing in the hotel gardens and he was trying to sell me some. For a very short while he sat on the bottom of my sun bed rubbing some of the jelly from the plant into his fingers, just grinning at me. There were sellers of jewellery, coloured cloths and paintings.
A young man who wore a coloured knitted hat and had long dreadlocks and a gorgeous wide, bright white smile, was painting scenes of the hotel at the hotel complex, he was a regular there on certain days. I bought a tiny picture he painted for me, he signed it in the corner and I still treasure it today. His beautiful smile put a smile on our faces; it was a truly infectious broad smile.

About the Book
For the Love of Mike is a sequel to Through my Eyes. It covers my life since meeting Mike who eventually becomes my husband. It covers celebrations we share, places we visit. Some antics Mike gets up to with his friends. Becoming Captain of his golf club and subsequently our marriage. Then becoming grandparents and the things we do with our grandchildren and places we take them to and the fun we have as a family. It also touches on the fact that I am very, very accident prone! and how I won't accept that I am getting older.
About the Author
The author is a woman who does not have an easy life. After a ten year relationship she ends up marrying Mike who is her soul mate. They share a wonderful sense of humour together and he is very good for her. She is readily accepted by Mikes friends and becomes a part of their circle; sharing a great deal of fun with them. They celebrate as many things as possible and make life a celebration; which they share with family and friends. She is very, very accident prone. She becomes a grandmother and has a great deal of fun with her grandchildren but will not accept that she is going through "that time of life".Having been made redundant she decides its time to go shopping something she has done all her life but doesn't realise that she a shopaholic.
