He was far enough away then that he couldn't tell for sure if we were hit or not. He was about fifty feet away, coming toward us, when he decided to cross the stream and check us out. Close enough for me to use the PPK--------------" "I could hear faint music. Did I make it to Heaven or Hell? Music must mean heaven but you can never be sure these days. Some of the stuff you hear now-a-days sure does sound like Hell.---I couldn't see anything. I guess maybe I was blind.--There were no other sounds.--I was awfully thirsty. Must surely be hell. They probably never let you have water down here---------

About the Author
Earle was a Signal Corps Lieutenant in WWII. He served in Europe For two years from the Battle of Britain to the final surrender of Japan. His first battle star was for Normandy. (Not D Day--one week later.) He and his wife Alla, a native of Ukraine, live in Southern California with their one-eared cat, Barabashka, a native of Saint Petersburg, Russia. He has been writing since 1989 and has a number of other books published.
