My life experiences have taught me many lessons. For instance, there is a clear difference between one who has been raised in love (sheltered, protected with great care) and another one who was raised in impoverished surroundings, abused but cared for the best way conditions allowed (which means a struggle was made to meet the most basic needs). Where the sheltered child may take certain things for granted; the child raised in lack either learns to treasure (or if abuse reigns, destroy) those very same things. God loves and blesses both. If God is found and His Word (the Holy Bible) prayerfully obeyed, both learn how to find true love. I’ve learned the sooner you get over life’s negative incidents and move on; the more you can enjoy the good parts. More often than not, the good outweighs the bad. Disbelief and lack of faith can stunt spiritual growth allowing negativity to block your blessings. When one believes in God as I do, it can be seen more clearly regardless of the environment, circumstances, encounters experienced, etc. One may experience difficulties in the process, overcoming obstacles to love, learning patience, forgiveness, etc., with faith in God one can grow--even soar above problems and difficulties to achieve great things. Seeing your Heavenly Father’s love or having a more close, unhindered walk with Him is as simple as loving the Lord enough to put down whatever it is creating love’s barrier and leaning closer to Him. God replaces the negative, destructive with good positive, constructive things. We are all still growing and learning. The Lord is my shepherd who fulfills all needs. I will continue to seek God first for there is no substitute for Him. Love, joy, happiness, peace, prosperity--everything--God created all. We can best enjoy all things when we align our will to God’s and cease to submit to our own will. God made each and every one of us a precious gift. Let His love shine through to cleanse us of our wrong ways and refresh us with His divine purpose. Otherwise, we are going in the opposite direction, destroying only ourselves and hurting loved ones in the process. Prayerfully reading and living the Word found in the Holy Bible will help us to find our way. (Lord knows, when we try on our own we get sidetracked, lost, confused, etc.--for without God, we can do nothing.) When you have a special person in your life, you have a precious treasure--one to be loved, protected, cared for and respected. Love and appreciate that one by letting that person know with a kind word, touch, smile, gift or whatever it is that you know will be understood as an act of reciprocation of the love you’ve received from that special one.

For the most part, you will find Definition inspirational. Written by one imperfect sole blessed with God’s grace, this book is a testimony of faith. Having self-published several books of poetry this is the first effort being co-published with 1st Books Library electronically. It includes poetry from "A Little Something", "Something More", "Excuse Me While I Be Myself", "From One Who Thirsts" and "From Beneath the Surface", all original works by Karen Maddox (published via proprietorship Faith Unlimited Enterprises®, P.O. Box 3963, Louisville, KY 40201-3963). Through its pages may you find a word of encouragement. May your soul be touched with love, moving you to rejoice in Jesus name. Amen.
About the Author
She Writes She’s not a blazing fire; just a little flame~ stirring warmth, shining light~lifting Jesus’ name! Not preaching from the pulpit~ nor forcing arguments nor fights. God’s way is love, peace and gentleness. So happily and joyfully, seeking truth~ she writes! Throughout her life, Karen Maddox has noted situations life has presented. In 1987, during a period of high unemployment throughout the U.S., she created Faith Unlimited Enterprises™. Acknowledging God solely as having unlimited faith and utilizing God-given abilities, her first two books were born: A Little Something and Something More. A career secretary, she found employment but maintains her business with hours of 9A-3P Saturdays only. Products are distributed via "Hand-made For that Personal Touch®" (another arm of her enterprising efforts) utilizing U.S. mail. Items consist of her poems in various forms: Poetry books, T-shirts, plaques, individual poems on decorative papers, etc. Locally promoted poems via radio, festivals and only one book signing (for From Beneath the Surface) before a 1997 auto accident slowed physical activity dramatically. God blessed Karen to survive, explore other talents (drawing and painting)--"Art by Karen" began as another part of Faith Unlimited Enterprises. Art showings are planned to begin 2001. The Lord also enabled her to compile this book Definition. This will be the first book co-published electronically with the help of 1st Book Library. Standing humbly before God , her life’s experiences through her work are presented as examples to show that no matter where you are; what situations you’ve encountered; how bad you think things are; who has tried to knock you down or destroy you; nor when you’ve said, did or gone wrong; if you keep your eyes on Jesus, with faith in God (who solely has unlimited faith, understanding, forgiveness, joy, patience, peace and love), the Lord God Almighty will bring you through!
