DRAGON
There once was a dragon, named "Charlie" that wanted, to prove his love to his master. It was sometime's, hard to do, when, his master found him to be lazy, and not cooperating. If Charlie his master would say "Would you listen, and behave, there would never, be any reason to complain."
I found no other pet to be as stubborn, as he. Charlie is slow, he really is not very pretty to look at, or even smart. Sometime's I wish the I could trade him in, to get someone else. A huge mansion, that Charlie can't even protect, because he is friendly to everyone.
Excuse me, let me introduce myself, my name is "Albert". Prince Albert to be exact, is Charlie's master's name. I built this land up, and this mansion that is upon a green pasture. I called this mansion "Summerville" I cherished it's beauty, and love I had for it.
Although I never had anyone to share it with, I Albert had never complained. Til, I hired this dragon, that is called Charlie, and is green with dark brown spots, covering his whole body.
I have had trouble, with the peasents and peddlers that hang outside of summerville. But, theres nothing like having a dragon, that can't do his job well.

About the Book
These are stories that I find will interest a child's imagination. I find the imagination of a child fascinating. This book reflects on real life issues that are written in an imaginative way. None are without hard work and a child's desires for stories in mind.
About the Author
My full name is Catherine Marie Hilley. I was born September eighteenth, nineteen sixty one in Washington D.C. I am now Thirty nine years old and started interest in short story writing for children when I saw contests. I have entered short story contests for children and just recently have received an Award of Merit.
The story is Octapuss from Writers Digest 2001 Zine Publishing Competition. I have stories considered for publication in children's like Highlights and Merlyns Pen.
I also write poetry and have a poem considered for publication in Highlights.
