About the Author

Don Crockett was born in the small Missouri town of Auxvasse, in 1936, just 100 years after his most famous Scottish ancestor perished at the Alamo.

After being raised in Ashland, Oregon his life consisted of a myriad of different jobs. He also served over twenty years in the United States Navy, part of which was being stationed with the United States Marine Corps, a story in itself.

Since retiring in Oregon, he continues to work full time and tries to get in some fishing and hunting. Most of all, he enjoys having some time now to write the many stories he’s had brewing in his head over the years. This includes the writing of the entire Diana series before he got around to publishing the first one, “Buried In Stone.” He also is working on a small series of children’s books to be published in the near future.

Many of his friends have asked why he doesn’t write about his own varied and colorful life, but the answer is always the same. The book would not be completed until the last page of the last hour and the last second had been lived to the fullest.
