About the Book

Synopsis:

Gather a few carefree characters and the love of an old airplane and mix them into extraordinary adventures and outrageous situations and you will meet Louie and his airplane the R46. Aviation buff as well as nonflier will find this saga sprinkled with perspective and humor and most chapters will bring a smile. The reader is seated beside the author as he pilots his classic four place cabin Fairchild on his many journeys and alongside him, under a wing, lounging on the grass, when he dreams.

About the Author

The author developed an interest in aircraft in his early teens. He worked at a small civilian airport for flying lessons and at sixteen, before he learned to drive, soloed in a light trainer.

In the early years of the Korean War, he enlisted in the Air Force serving in Europe and the Far East. He describes the experience as a Korean combat veteran and the place where he grew up. Honorably discharged in 1953 he began a career in law enforcement.

Most of his twenty-six years in law enforcement was spent as a Detective Sergeant and he retired as a Deputy Chief. He became a private detective licensed in four states and dabbled in investigations to the age of seventy-one.  He has written a book about his detective experiences (Probe, Poke, Pry, and Peek: Detecting the Detectable).

He has owned several aircraft from a 175 HP cabin Fairchild up to a 3400 HP twin engine B-25, (Barbie III and Company). His latest book (Giants Over Korea) tells an intriguing tale of the B-29 and its role in the air war over North Korea.

He and his wife have four children and four grandchildren.
