The boys finished cleaning out the stalls. Grandpa came to inspect. "Good job. Now you must be careful bringing Sally and Edna in." "Okay Grandpa!" Spike yelled. Grandpa walked away.
Dino and Spike went to get the horses, still chomping on their gum. Dino gently pulled Sally. Sally was getting annoyed with the snapping sounds Dino was making with his gum. Spike led Edna into the barn, still trying to blow a bubble. They got the horses into their stalls. The horses were watching Dino and Spike very carefully. Spike was close to Edna's face. "Look Edna! I'm going to blow a bubble." Spike blew as hard as he could and when he did, the gum flew out of his mouth and landed right between Edna's eyes. Edna's eyes went crossed and she started to panic. Sally panicked because Edna panicked. Dino didn't have time to close the stalls. Sally and Edna started to run. Dino and Spike got scared and started yelling. Grandpa heard the noise coming from the barn and came running. Dino and Spike ran out of the barn. Grandpa tried to stop them, but ran toward the barn when he saw Sally and Edna running around in circles.

About the Book
Dino and Spike are off to Grandpa's farm for the weekend. Starting with a chase around the farm by Grandpa's animals, Dino and Spike end up in the pigpen with Mom. They create a disaster at the apple orchard and drive Grandpa's two old horses into a panic. Though there is total chaos, Dino and Spike have a great time giving the animals a day they will never forget. Neither will Grandpa.
About the Author
This is Anne Sullivan's second book in the Adventures of Dino and Spike series. She has a great love for writing and is always looking for new ideas. After a vacation up north which included horseback riding and observing a lot of farms, Anne thought it would be fun to see what Dino and Spike would do if they went to the farm. It just so happens, Grandpa has one.
