In Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii, many years ago, there lived a young tribeswoman named Piliki. She was about eleven years of age. She lived in a small hut with her father, mother, and small dog named Koa.
Koa had beautiful straight hair, soulful eyes and a mischievous smile. He followed Piliki wherever she went. When she went to gather berries or twigs for the fire, Koa was right at her side.

About the Book
This book is about a young poodle named Koa who lived on the Big Island of Hawaii a great many years ago. He was extremely willful and mischievous and he only thought of himself, his own needs and wants. He gave little thought towards the needs and wants of the people around him.
Koa thought he knew everything and paid little attention to the warnings and good advice of others.
In this book, Koa learns a valuable lesson the hard way.
