About the Book
Captivated by the beauty of the young woman who directs a program to educate underprivileged children, Bob Garrett chooses to extend his stay at the assistance center in the hill country of Kentucky. Being financially able to help the center obtain some much needed equipment, he gains the gratitude and respect of the other volunteers of the group.
What becomes most important is his discovery that the young woman is as attracted to him as he is to her. The relationship thrives on the peaceful tranquility in the complex until it is interrupted on two separate occasions; first by an evil outsider, and later by the operators of an illegal still, who see the center as a threat to their own ambitions to control the local residents.
About the Author
R.R. Emmett states that he is surprised with the progress he has made in writing this chronology. In the less than four years since his retirement he has published five of the intended novels, and is scheduling two more to be completed in two thousand seven.
Emmett continues to reside in Indiana and to serve as the primary caregiver for his wife, Peggy, but he gratefully acknowledges the help he receives from their nearby children, a relative and some very dedicated friends.
