Three weeks later in the second week of May, Alex, Heather and baby Benjamin were on a day long sight seeing cruise and Glacier Bay National Park. For Heather there were no words to describe the spectacular mountain rain in the distance or the towering icebergs, Alex stood next to her holding Benjamin. The baby laughed and cooed as Alex pointed out two humped back whales to Heather.
The girl looked away from the huge walls of blue ice just in time to catch sight of the two whales diving into the water, with their tails sticking straight up. The sudden roar of ice breaking off one of the icebergs and splashing into the sea below startled the child. Benjamin began to cry. Alex just rocked the boy back and forth to comfort him. "Why don't you give the boy to his grandmother?" Tatiana Sheer, Alex's mother had signed to him.
Alex slowly handed the baby over to a pleasant looking small framed woman with dark blonde hair. She had just came upstairs from the snack room, below deck. Soon Benjamin was all smiles again in her arms. His grandmother smelled like peppermint chewing gum.
Tatiana offers a piece of gum to both Alex and Heather. Heather was all smiles too while chewing some peppermint gum, and looking through her binoculars. She saw a close-up view of seals scurrying across the far away beaches.
Just then, a lanky young blonde man walks upstairs to the top deck, He came on this sight seeing cruise as a favor to his mother, Tatiana. Maximilian also longs to meet his older brother Alexander's new family.
The baby Benjamin was a miniature copy of Alex, right down to his black hair and unusual teal green eyes.
She was the striking blonde girl from television. Heather was a couple of inches shorter and skinner than he thought she would be.
Max and Alex lightly hugged each other. Their five-year age difference never stopped the two brothers from being close.
"Max, why didn't you wear your blue contact lenses this morning? I like it when you have two blue eyes." Tatiana said to her fair-haired son.
"I don't know mom. I decided to have two brown eyes today," nineteen year-old Max answered with a shrug and a smile.
Eighteen year-old Heather's own brown eyes met his. She smiled up at Max. He smiled back down at her. They shake hands and say hello. They never looked away from one another.
