About the Book
This is the second book in a series about two Chihuahuas, Jack and Dobbie. The first book The Beginning describes how Dobbie came to be adopted through an animal rescue group as a playmate for Jack. The book describes Dobbie's past abuse and the difficulty of adjusting to his new home. The second book Happy Tails details events that nearly ended in disaster as well as more light-hearted moments of interaction with Jack. As their story continues in book three, Doggie Holidays, children will learn how the dogs celebrate their birthdays and other holidays. We hope you enjoy reading their story and that you may be encouraged to adopt a pet and know the true joy they bring to the home.
About the Author
In the small town of Hoagland, Indiana, Shirley Scott and her husband Ray live on ten acres with their two Chihuahuas, Jack and Dobbie. Jack came to live with the Scotts because his former owners were moving and could not take him along. Jack constantly followed Shirley and seemed very lonely, so they adopted Dobbie from a pet rescue organization. Dobbie, who had been severely abused by his former owners, had many behavioral problems and insecurities. Therefore, the Scotts knew it was going to take a great deal of love and patience for him to adjust. Shirley and Ray were also faced with not knowing if the two dogs would be compatible with each other. Fortunately, Dobbie was the perfect playmate for Jack, and the Chihuahuas have brought the Scotts much joy. The author is writing this book series to document and share with others the natural interaction and sometimes amusing behavior of the two newest “members” of her family.
